The word ‘excavation’ can be generally used to describe the removal of dirt, rock, and soil for the purpose of making a cavity in the ground. But in the construction world, a lot more goes into ‘excavating’ a property than simply digging a hole. There’s a five-step process the professionals at Limitless Excavation follow:
Stage 1: We roughly ‘stake out’ the location of the new building, so we can clearly understand where we have to dig and what debris and vegetation has to be removed.
Stage 2: During the clearing stage, we’ll physically remove all of that debris and vegetation so we have a clean slate to work with. If there’s a pre-existing structure that needs to go this may involve demolition work.
Stage 3: We’ll then start excavating the land, using equipment like bulldozers, backhoes, dump trucks, and - you guessed it - excavators.
Stage 4: We’ll dig trenches as needed for things like foundation footings, sewage pipes, water pipes, and utility lines.
Stage 5: Grading may be required in order to level the surrounding land and/or create an environment where water can effectively drain away from the new structure being built. We’ll overlay this redistributed dirt with topsoil, so shrubs and other vegetation can quickly start to grow.
Stage 6: We’ll make sure you follow local regulations about erosion control, which will vary depending on your location.
